President’s Report – Dave Ritter We will be upgrading the electric box on First Street for the pump station. Hopefully, this will put our sewage system back in top shape. Climate Control was here to correct the problem with the a/c in the clubhouse. A wet switch had gone out in our air handler and was fixed. Everything seems to be working good now. The shuffleboard courts were power washed; thanks to Mike Bernard the courts were also waxed. Thank you to all the volunteers who continue to give their time to keep the park looking nice. Donnie Gilbert, our Vice President, is home recuperating from knee replacement and is doing very well.
Treasurer’s Report – Diego Gonzalez A summary of the latest financials is available in the park office. Terra Ceia Manor continues to be in good financial condition. TOUR OF THE PORT OF MANATEE: We plan to schedule a tour of the Port of Manatee after they open in October. Please see the bulletin board for information. CALENDAR OF ACTIVITIES 2011 TRAVEL CALENDAR: Larry and Mary Thompson can be reached at home in Ohio at 937-335-2514 or their cell number at 937-418-1151. **All dates and itineraries are subject to change without notice. FEBRUARY 4-11, 2012: Larry announced the next cruise for 2012 – It will be on the Crown Princess and will visit Princess Cay and the islands of Curacao and Aruba. Information is available in the clubhouse. ¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨¨ OCTOBER 5, 2011 – DINNER AT BEENIE’S: Beenie’s is on 41 in Ruskin, and we are having a dinner there on October 5. Rides are available to those that need them. Meet at 3:30 p.m. that day at the Clubhouse. Please sign up in the Clubhouse, and check the bulletin board for further information. INFORMATION, ANNOUNCEMENTS AND THANK YOUs! TCM HEARTS & HANDS CRAFT GROUP: Our leader, Clare Amick, reported the group has made and donated the following items: 50 placemats made from donated greeting cards; 1 dozen pair of knitted slippers; 69 infant hats – knitted; 25 nap cot sheets; 34 “ditty” bags. The placemats, slippers and infant hats were donated to Meals on Wheels Plus of Manatee County. The nap cot sheets were made for the Migrant Head Start Program in Palmetto. The “ditty” bags were made for our service men and women overseas and donated to Operation Shoe box. Thank you everyone in the Craft Group for your help. Please be thinking about some new projects we might do for our community to help out those in need. If anyone has material or yarn they are willing to donate, please bring it down south with you in the fall. Please also help us out with your talents of knitting, sewing, crocheting, or any other clever little thing you can do. COFFEE HOUR: Coffee hour is held every Saturday morning from 9:00-10:00 (from October through April, as long as we have volunteer hosts/hostesses). Our first coffee hour of the season will be on Saturday, October 1. Please check the clubhouse for more information or to sign up to be hosts/hostesses. If you are new to the park and would like to host a coffee hour and do not know what to do, please contact Bonnie Huff (734-664-7764). BINGO MEETING: There is a meeting scheduled on October 13 at 10:00 a.m. in the clubhouse for anyone interested in helping out with this year’s Bingo. Please attend this meeting, if possible, or contact Rose Dander (722-5051). Worker positions needed include sellers, runners, callers, and kitchen workers for refreshments. BINGO will begin on Monday, November 7.
Gary and Sue Price, Lot 462 in the cul-de-sac, have sold their house at TCM and moved to Port Charlotte. We would like to extend a “hearty” welcome to Arthur and Diane Shapiro as the new owners of Lot 462. They are in the Park now, will return north for a short time this winter, and then return again after the first of the year. LOVE AND PRAYERS Lee Bandeen, Lot 424, is in the hospital in Ohio with pneumonia. Please keep Lee in your prayers. Len Bromer, Lot 214, and Dee continue to need our prayers. Harry Carlson, formerly of Lot 209, still needs our prayers, but is doing better. Doug and Bertie Drayton, Lot 160, need your prayers. They are both having health issues. Gene Finn, Lot 464, continues to improve and is doing well. Lee Finn, Lot 464, Lee is home now and doing well. She and Gene still need our prayers. Von Gilbert, Lot 215, has had more tests at Mayo Clinic, and they have determined the cause of her problems, but they have not decided how to proceed. We continue to think of you, Vonnie, and we hope the doctors provide either a cure or at least give you some relief soon. Calla Gonzalez, Lot 434, has just lost her Brother. We would like to extend our sympathies to Calla and Diego and her entire family. Ken Maly, Lot 465, Please keep Ken and Sharon in your prayers. Reta McCabe, Lot 460; Reta and Jack still need our prayers! John McGee, Lot 242; let us continue to keep them in your prayers. Jan McMullen, Lot 401, has had a triple bypass in Michigan. She is now out walking and getting around fairly well. The McMullens plan to be back in the Park sometime in October. We hope you continue your road to recovery, Jan. Meade Perney, our Office Manager, recently lost his Mother. We would like to extend our sympathies to you and your family, Meade. Joe and Roberta Polsgrove, Lot 468, are back in the Park. They continue to need our prayers and support. Bob Schrinner, Lot 207, has had a heart attack in Ohio, and he is in the hospital in Cincinnati. Please keep Bob and Bonnie in your prayers. Helen Wensink, Lot 466; please continue to keep Helen and Jim in your prayers.
Please say a prayer for anyone in the park who is ill or may have a friend or loved one with an illness.

I hope everyone is having a great summer. Thanks, Meade Attention Smokers: There are proper containers available for disposal of cigarette butts. Please do not throw cigarette butts around the Park. We would appreciate your cooperation in keeping the Park free of this debris! SOLICITORS: Can take real advantage of you. If someone comes to your door trying to sell you a service, ask them to leave immediately. Promptly report the incident to the park manager giving a description of the vehicle and the direction it leaves. Please let Lynn Searles (721-3245 - Lot 120) know if you have news items for the newsletter. We would like this information around the 23rd of the month – the earlier the better
