TERRA CEIA MANOR NEWSLETTER

                                                                      T.C.M. Newsletter

                                      MAY, 2007

                                    Editor, Lynn Searles

Welcome to our first 2007 post-season newsletter which is posted on our TCM website by Dave VandenBerg.
Jane will be back doing the news in the Fall.  Can you believe this season is over already?!   I can’t!  We have
had a wonderful winter here in sunny Florida.  Many have already left for the summer and others are leaving soon
(we are leaving for Michigan on May 4).   I have certain people I am contacting each month for news for the
newsletter, but if anyone has other items that need to be added please contact me on my email
at lassie121346@aol.com or call me on either my home phone (269-327-0834) or my cell phone (269-598-3254).
Thanks, Lynn

EVENTS

▪LADIES LUNCHEON: The final Ladies’ Luncheon for this season was held April 12, at the Anna Maria Oyster Bar.  We had a wonderful turnout and everyone had a great time.  Thank you, everyone.   I would especially like to thank Gert Finn, Sandy Thomas and Judy Glanz for all the wonderful help I had making this a successful day.  I couldn’t have done it without you!!! Thanks so much, Lynn

▪SNOWBIRD REUNION: TCM Folks will meet at 12:00 PM on August 8th at the Casino in Mt. Pleasant, MI.  The lunch Buffet has lots of choices and it’s a chance to catch up on what’s been happening over the summer.  Some folks work in a bit of gambling too.  It’s always fun so plan to join us.

▪OHIO REUNION: The TCM Findlay, Ohio Reunion will be held on Wednesday, June 27, from 4:00-??, and will be held at Cheddars Restaurant in front of Meijers on Route 224 East (also called Tiffin Avenue).  Sandy Thomas would appreciate a call so she can let Cheddars know how many are attending when she makes the reservation.  Please call Sandy on her cell at 941-320-3088.  If she is not available, please leave a message.

 SUMMER AND VACATION CHECKLIST:

·         Put awnings down to protect your home from high winds.

·         Store items that can be a projectile during storms, inside.

·         Remove food from freezers/refrigerators to avoid spoilage if there is a power failure.

·         Turn off water and hot water heater.

·         Set humidistat and air conditioner appropriately.

·         Stop newspaper and change mail delivery address.

·         Take pictures of belongings, & do an itemized inventory to keep in a safety deposit box or some place other than your home
so as to have a record in case of a disaster.  Consider writing down model and serial numbers of your higher priced items.

·         Please pick up & complete the office form that records the following information.

o        Your departure date and summer/vacation address and the phone number where you can be reached in case
of emergency or accounted for in case of a disaster.

o        The name of the person who has the key to your home in case of an emergency.

o        The name of the person who will maintain your planter box and the appearance of your property during your absence.

Per Rules & Regulations, Leaseholders and renters are responsible for the overall appearance of the

but not the obligation, to have work done and bill leaseholder/renter for cost.  The Corporation

will provide lawn mowing and front edging.

Note: Per current lawn mowing contract…String trimming will be done to all areas that have limited access and   areas that we are not able to reach with the turf mowers.  This includes, around all mobile homes, trees, shrubs and other obstacles. Sidewalks and drives leading up to mobile homes will be edged.

  ▪CRIME PREVENTION TIPS:

·         Never hesitate to call 911 if you see something that is suspicious or concerns you.  Detailed descriptions of persons or
vehicles, license numbers or other identifying information is especially helpful.

·         Keep doors locked & your valuables protected even if you are home.

·         Do not let anyone in your home that you do not know.  It could be a set up.  Call the police who can better deal with
whatever the problem is.

·         Please remember that anyone can be casing your home to later come back and steal what is not locked up (like bicycles).

·         Make sure your house number is easily seen after dark (contrasting color).

·         Sleep with your car keys beside your bed and set off the car alarm if you hear something that concerns you.

·         Call out, “I’ll get the door, Jo”, if you hear a knock at the door or something else that concerns you.

·         Watch out for the best interests of your neighbors.

·         Call 911 immediately, to report incidents.

·         Notify the office of incidents.

TRAVELERS: Please have a safe trip and a good summer.  We will miss you!  Remember to pick up and complete
the information form from the office so we will have information to contact you should that become necessary.
In your flurry of packing, if you should forget, give me a call and fill me in on the detail.
